How old do I have to be to
serve as a Ranch Hand?
It is best it you are at least going into the 9th grade this Fall. You may he
considered it you are younger and have excellent references. Recent High School
graduates and college students are always welcomed.
How long will I serve as a Ranch Hand? Do I have to
commit all Summer?
You can serve as little or as long as you choose at MHR. The minimum time
available is 1 week and the max is 9 weeks.
How will I know if I have been selected to the Ranch
Hand Team?
You will be contacted by phone by the Ranch Hand Coordinator. Your schedule
will be discussed then. Please do not contact our office-if you are selected we
will contact you.
How will I get to and from the Ranch?
Transportation to and from Miracle Hills is your responsibility. if you are
flying into Kansas City International airport we will pick you up. All
arrangements must be made in advance. You will need to report to the Ranch one
day prior to working so you can get accustomed to the camp and other Ranch Hands
before duty.
What benefits do I get from being a Ranch hand?
This is strictly a volunteer program. You receive no wages. Helping as a
Ranch hand is a volunteer ministry position. You will receive free lodging and
all meals upon arrival. You also receive a free staff shirt and have a
concession stand allowance. Ranch hands come from all over the United States to
serve so you will meet several other Christian teens during your stay. On
weekends the Ranch hands have fun activities planned with the Ranch Hand
coordinator.
Where will I be rooming, doing laundry, etc. while at
Miracle Hills?
You will be staying in quarters for either guys or girls. We have a laundry
area to do your own laundry at no charge. You will need to bring detergent.
Can my parents be assured
of adult supervision at the Ranch?
Yes, the Ranch Hand Coordinator and Miracle Hills Staff will be overseeing
all teens serving at MHR.
What will my daily activities include?
Duties vary depending on the week but most Ranch hands work in the kitchen
helping to prepare food &. serve it, they help with maintenance and upkeep
of the facilities, are cabin counselors and mentors, run the concession stand
and other various jobs. Whatever position you will fill you can be assured it is
a vital part to the Ranch Hand team.
